His only daughter has a unique personality, says her father of four
- He has four children – Sire, 17 months, Sovereign, 3½, Naviyd, 15, and Usher “Cinco”, 16 years old.

- Recently, Sovereign appeared in a music video for her dad’s song “Ruin.”
The Usher family has toddlers, teens, and one kid who’s ready to rule them all.
In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Super Bowl halftime headliner Sire Castrello says that out of his four kids – son Sire Castrello, 17 months, and daughter Sovereign Bo, 312, with his wife Jennifer Goicoechea, as well as teens Naviyd Ely, 15, and Usher “Cinco” V, 16, he shares with Tameka Foster – his daughter stands out the most.
She’s a cold three-nager, but she’s so loving. I’m not sure why I named her Sovereign since she’s a dictator by name,” the R&B singer, 45, laughs, adding, “You’ll get what you ask for.”
As for what I want, it is that my children love each other, and there is enough distance between the older boys and the babies to cover each other. The proud father continues, “They need to be the structure that I wish I had at times, that they are protective of one another, that they are willing to challenge one another.”
My sisters and brother are older than me, but I manage to figure it out whenever I am given the chance.”
In his words, fatherhood has taught him, “Every situation presents a different direction.”
“You can’t handle your kids in the same way. If they don’t get a chance to get out, that becomes trauma for them, so you have to make sure they have their time, and that you are receptive to what they say, and you help them get to a place where they can express their emotions.” It’s possible they didn’t mean to be so cruel or out of pocket.
With his children, Usher says he always tries to be patient and talk things through.
A patient person is necessary because you will have good experiences, or you will have challenges. “You will have good experiences, but you will also have challenges,” he says.
Despite being 45 years old, I’m still able to move. I can still run, I can still keep up with them. Skating probably keeps me agile in that way, and it’s impressive to them. He adds, “I am cool with them,” before adding, “I don’t know if I am cool with my older ones.”
It features a cameo from Sovereign, who wears a pretty pink dress and plays with blocks on the floor with her father in the song “Ruin.”
After looking at his daughter’s SR initial necklace, the singer scoops her up into his arms. A princess tiara is placed on her head at the end of the video.
Alongside the video, Usher wrote: “Daddy’s Little Girl “Ruin” OUT NOW #COMINGHOME.”
